All for God's Glory

January 13, 2017 Preacher: Jeramie Rinne Series: 1 Corinthians

Topic: Expository Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:23– 11:1

Synopsis: The Corinthians wanted an answer to their question: "Can we eat meat offered to idols or not?" But rather than simply giving them a list of do's and don'ts, Paul challenged their motivations. What was in their hearts? Were the Corinthians motivated primarily by a love for their fellow Christians? By concern for the salvation for the lost? By zeal for the glory of God? Or were the Corinthians instead focused on their enjoying own rights and preferences? In our text, Paul wraps up the issue of food offered to idols (chapters 8-10) by reminding the Corinthians of what should be driving and shaping all of their decisions.
