Synopsis: Do you know God? If you say “yes,” then how do you know that you know him?  On what basis can a person who claims to be a Christian know for certain that they truly know God and have hope of eternal life? Do we know that we know God if we have had a mystical or supernatural experience? Do we know that we know God if we have learned Christianity theology or attend a church regularly? Today’s text focuses on a simple yet telling evidence of real Christianity: we know we have come to know him if we keep his commands, and one command in particular.
